The Pale Blue Dot (Short)

Moving Image

A short film inspired by Carl Sagan's book Pale Blue Dot and the image taken by Voyager 1 on 14 February 1990. As the spacecraft was departing our planetary neighborhood for the fringes of the solar system, it turned it around for one last look at its home planet. The earth is a tiny speck of light yet to us everything we've ever known.

"Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves."
